Evanescence - Lacrymosa Lyrics Meaning

SO I'm thinking this song is about her speaking to a person she no longer loves.

Whether is be an old boyfriend/husband or simply a family member or friend she once was close to. She no longer wants to be near them but its hard for her to just drop them out her life and run away. "Now that you're gone, I feel like myself again. Grieving the things I can't repair and willing..."

Near the end the beat and energy of the song sort of pick up. Here I think this is her rebelling against this person wanting them back. "My love wasnt enough". Her love wasnt enough for that person, so she left.

Another idea I had was that this is two people talking.

The first verse and chorus is the person that hurt her saying, "Out on your own, Cold and alone again. Can this be what you really wanted, baby?
Blame it on me, Set your guilt free. Nothing can hold you back now."

Amy lee responds with, "Now that you're gone, I feel like myself again. Grieving the things I can't repair and willing..."

Next, the person who did the damage replies with the chorus " blame it on me....."

As the beat picks up, Amy Lee responds with "I can't change who I am.
Not this time, I won't lie to keep you near me.
And in this short life, there's no time to waste on giving up.
My love wasn't enough."

Still trying to have her stay, the person who hurt her esponds with the same line spoken in a slightly different way.

And that's it, what you think?
